DESICCANT BEDS
Two desiccant beds are filled with molecular seives. These Molecular seives have high absorbing capacity hence when the moisture laden air from the pellets is made to pass through these beds it losses its moistures to these beds and by the time it emerges from these beds it becomes dry again. These extreme moisture hungry dry air when passes through the plastic pellets to be dried absorbs up their moisture making the plastic suitable for processing without defects. Molecular seives are synthetically processed crystalline alumino silicates with highly ordered crystal structures having pores of uniform diameter. The structure permits absorption of molecules having sizes smaller than pores openings and thus these structures exhibit spectacular selective absorption. The absorption capacity of Molecular seives is due to the electrostatic forces between the adsorbent and adsorbate.
